Golang: Quick-Start & Installation Guide

INTRODUCTION:

Go is an open-source programming language maintained by Google. It is easy to learn, has built-in concurrency, and has a robust standard library. It has a large ecosystem of partners, communities, and tools. Golang (Go) is a programming language, and it is becoming more and more widely used and very popular. I have seen many exciting tools that are made from and written in Go.

Since we know that Golang means GO, which is not pre-installed in Kali Linux and is not installed by default in Kali Linux.

So, I thought publishing a quick-start guide could be a good idea because many people do not know how to install Golang on Kali Linux or any other operating system.

So, before we do the installation part, we go through several key benefits in the field of cybersecurity.

Note: But security researchers know that if they command in the terminal [sudo apt install Golang], it installs the old version, not the latest version.

So, to install the latest versions of Golang, the below steps give you the full guide to installing Golang. Let Go install Golang (GO).


Installation of Golang

Step 1: Open your browser and just type "Golang." You can see a website called "The GO Programming Language."

Just click on [Download and install]

And then just download the latest version of Golang version 1.20.5 and it will go in your download section.

Step 2: Go into the terminal to install Golang by extracting the downloaded part. So, first, go to the terminal and get into the download folder by the following command.

And then type the command - "ls"

you will get the downloaded file [go1.20.linux-amd64.tar.gz]

And then to extract this go1.20.linux-amd64.tar.gz, we must command:

and then check by the command -ls you will get a go file

Step 3: The next step that we need to do is move the file because the reasoning behind adding and moving this file is that we must simply access this tool or file from anywhere, so let's move this thing.

You can see the go file has been moved to /usr/local.

Step 4: And then go back to the normal phase terminal by command cd..

Kali Linux cd Command.

And then type ls -la

ls -la command in Kali Linux.

We need to edit the .bashrc so type –

export PATH=$PATH:/usr/local/go/bin Go lang Kali Linux.

And you will get this type of interface in the terminal, so we must edit the below interface.

Write some code down like this:

And then CTRL-S [Save] the file and then exit CTRL-X [Exit]


Step 5: Similarly, add and edit by typing in the terminal:
