DOWNLOADING KALI LINUX ISO:
To download the latest Kali Linux ISO file from the official website, follow these steps:
Open your web browser and navigate to the official Kali Linux website at https://www.kali.org/.
Click on the "Download" link located in the top menu bar.
Scroll down to the "Kali Linux Installer Images" section and select the appropriate ISO file for your system. You can choose between 32-bit or 64-bit architecture and a variety of desktop environments.
Once you have selected the appropriate ISO file, click on the download link to start the download process.
Wait for the download to complete. The download time will depend on your internet connection speed and the size of the ISO file.
Once the download is complete, the ISO file will be saved to your default downloads folder.
DOWNLOADING VMware WORKSTATION PLAYER:
To download and install the latest version of VMware Workstation Player on a Windows machine, follow these steps:
Open your web browser and navigate to the VMware website at https://www.vmware.com/.
Click on the "Downloads" link located in the top menu bar.
Scroll down to the "Desktop & End-User Computing" section and click on "VMware Workstation Player".
Select the latest version of VMware Workstation Player for Windows and click on the "Download Now" button.
Wait for the download to complete. The download time will depend on your internet connection speed and the size of the installer file.
Once the download is complete, locate the installer file in your default downloads folder and double-click on it to start the installation process.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation. You may be asked to agree to the license agreement and select the installation location for the software.
Once the installation is complete, you can launch VMware Workstation Player
SELECTING THE KALI LINUX ISO FILE AND PROCEEDING:
To select the "Installer disc image file (iso)" option and browse to the location of the Kali Linux ISO file and select the file and click "Next" in VMware, follow these steps:
Launch the VMware Workstation Player software on your Windows machine.
Click on the "Create a New Virtual Machine" option to open the New Virtual Machine Wizard.
In the wizard, select the "Installer disc image file (iso)" option and click "Next".
Browse to the location on your computer where you have downloaded the Kali Linux ISO file by clicking the "Browse" button next to the "ISO Image File" field.
Navigate to the directory where you have saved the Kali Linux ISO file, select it, and click "Open".
The path of the Kali Linux ISO file should now be displayed in the "ISO Image File" field. Click "Next" to continue.
On the next screen, select the guest operating system you want to install. In the case of Kali Linux, select "Linux" and then "Debian 10. x". Click "Next" to proceed.
Enter a name for your virtual machine and select a location to save it on your computer. Click "Next" to proceed.
Specify the disk capacity for your virtual machine and click "Next".
Review the summary page to ensure that all the settings are correct and click "Finish" to complete the process.
